Support of regional development in Ukraine (2004-2006)

Beneficiaries of the Project were Ministry of Economy of Ukraine (Department for Regional Development) and State Oblast Administrations of three pilot regions – Vinnytsia oblast, Volyn oblast and Cherkassy oblast.
Main tasks of the project included:
• Legal advice as regards legal framework for regional development in Ukraine;
• Support in drafting strategies of regional development in three pilot regions;
• Support in institutional strengthening of the Department of regional development of the Ministry of Economy and state oblast administrations particularly on the issues of preparations of projects of regional and local development (including trans-border cooperation projects).
Certain number of economic and market studies have been carried out under the project, as well as manuals and training materials have been prepared (they can be found in Services).
